Street Prize

Hurrah For Hanging Heaton

25 January 2021 - WF17 6DJ - Hanging Heaton - £30,000
Jeff has a fantastic £30,000 Street Prize for each of our six winners in Hanging Heaton

Six neighbours in Hanging Heaton are celebrating today after their postcode, WF17 6DJ, won our Monday Street Prize. These prizes are part of our special January #30KADAY campaign, where one postcode is announced as a £30,000 prize winner every day. All the players in that lucky postcode win £30,000 for every ticket they play with.

Like An Angel

Emma, who works as a teacher, discovered how much she'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier

Emma became emotional when she realised how much the cheque was for. She exclaimed, "Oh my word, I'm going to start crying and I have mascara on! I'm absolutely lost for words which is very rare. I can't keep my camera straight. Jeff, you're like an angel!"

The win means a lot to Emma who has a few ideas how she will spend the cash, including treating her dad and buying her dog a new coat. She said, "I had no idea it would be this much, I thought it would be about £50 and I'd get the dog a new coat! When the lockdown is over and it's safe to go, I'll get myself off on a staycation somewhere. I could do with some new windows. It sounds really boring but I need them!

"My dad is just amazing so I'd love to treat him. He's shielding so I've not been able to see him, but he's getting his vaccine today! When we can, I'll take him out for an amazing meal. I'm going to tell him as soon as I'm off this call. He'll be absolutely elated.

"It will make an unbelievable difference. It's been a tough year and that will help immensely."

When asked how she would celebrate, Emma said, "When I get off the phone there will be a lot of kitchen dancing. It's just sinking in.

"I'm teaching online and meant to be marking tonight, I don't know how I'll get anything done!"

One of the reasons Emma signed up to play was to support good causes. Emma added, "That's a heck of a lot of money! I play to try and win something but it's great that is goes to charity too. It gives you a real buzz to give back."

After the video call Jeff Brazier said, "A big congratulations to Emma and our other winners in Hanging Heaton. It's great to give some good news and lift people's spirits right now. I hope everyone treats themselves to something nice with the extra cash!"
