Postcode Millions

Huge Win For High Wycombe

29 October - HP15 6UB - High Wycombe - £3 Million

There were plenty of screams in High Wycombe this Halloween… of delight! 159 winners walked away with a share of £3 Million, thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery.

Players in postcode sector HP15 6 were handed their prizes at a spooky celebration held today at the notably haunted and famous filming location West Wycombe Estate, where they took centre stage to receive their cheques.

Gary Morley was luckiest of the lot, as he was the only winner living in the full winning postcode, HP15 6UB, bagging £211,361 after only three months of playing.

"It's amazing," he said. "I can't believe I've won so much."

Credit manager Gary was joined by his wife Lynda when he was presented with his cheque. "There are a few things I can think of to spend this on," he said. "We're going to pay off our mortgage and get a new car but we'll not go too mad. I still don't think it's really sunk in."

A father of two, Gary was pleased to have shared the prize with so many others. "I love the community aspect of People's Postcode Lottery," he said. "I liked winning with my neighbours and glad we support some local charities together."

Richard Eldridge was one of four lucky players to scoop £44,976. He was joined by his wife, Barbara, and was over the moon to win. "I can visit my daughter in Melbourne," he exclaimed on stage. "We haven't been in five years."

Richard, who is a retired engineer, can't wait to break the news to his daughter Julie. "I know she'll scream down the phone when she finds out we're coming. We gave her some money years ago from the sale of my mum's house that allowed her and her husband to go out to Australia. She's doing great out there, but we do miss her and my two grandchildren. She'll be thrilled."

Twenty players won £29,984 each and all remaining players walked away with £14,992.

People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Judie McCourt added, "We've had a delightfully spooky time at West Wycombe Estate this weekend! Yesterday, Matt and I ventured into the haunted Hellfire Caves on site, and then today I gave out some big cheques to our wonderful winners – the perfect Halloween! Congratulations to all."

Fellow Ambassador and TV presenter Matt Johnson was thrilled to be part of the occasion. He said, "I've always loved Halloween parties, and this has been the best one yet because I was able to meet some lucky winners - as well as the incredible charities they support by playing! It's been a great celebration."

It's not just players who win with People's Postcode Lottery - £148 Million has been awarded to charities and over 2,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
