Feeling Groovy In Bromsgrove

Two neighbours in Bromsgrove got the surprise of their lives when they discovered their lucky postcode had earned them each a cheque for £30,000. Kate and Audra, who are the best of friends, scooped the money when B60 3JW won Sunday's Street Prize.

Winning Together

On seeing how much she'd won, Kate held her hand over her mouth before exclaiming, "Oh my God! I've only won £10 twice and I thought about cancelling it recently, but my husband persuaded me not to. Now here I am £30,000 richer!"

Kate has Audra to thank as she was the one who convinced her to play. Audra said, "I've played for years, and I said to Kate if I won you'd be devastated, so she joined up after that. It's lovely that we've won together."

Asked how they'd spend their windfall, Audra joked, "I think my husband wants some new golf clubs! I'm going to have to write a list, I just don't know what to spend it on. It's fantastic."

Kate added, "I'm going to have a holiday. And I'm going to take my mum to the Savoy for afternoon tea. It's all very surreal. We'll be having some champagne to celebrate later!"

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "I've had a lot of fun in Bromsgrove surprising Audra and Kate with big cheques. It was a pleasure to meet them and I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun celebrating!"
