Street Prize
Big Win Served In Cookham
It's a super Saturday for one man in Cookham after he won an amazing £30,000 prize.
Spencer scooped the cash when his lucky postcode, SL6 9SB, was drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
Spencer was taken aback to see the People's Postcode Lottery team standing outside his door with a golden envelope in hand. He was astonished to discover that he'd won such a large sum, and said, "This is totally unbelievable – I never win anything. I had no idea what to expect so this is a fabulous surprise and it feels amazing!"
The win means that Spencer will be able to treat himself to an extra special present when he celebrates his thirtieth birthday later on this year. He said, "I've had my eye on a watch so I'll definitely be getting that as a nice birthday present to myself now. It's so exciting! My advice to anyone thinking about joining would be to just go ahead and do it because it's £10 a month and this could happen to you!"
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson handed Spencer his cheque, and said, "I couldn't be happier for Spencer – I'm sure he'll have the best time spending the cash and it will certainly give him a thirtieth birthday to remember. If you would like to be in with a chance of picking up a nice big cheque then make sure you're signed up to play with your postcode."
32% of the ticket price goes to charities. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £330 Million, to date, for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Support Trust.
One good cause close to our winner that players have supported is SportsAble. The group received £18,468 last year to allow it to expand its wheelchair basketball programme.
