Congratulations Barton-upon-Humber!

22 January 2023 - DN18 5NG - Barton-upon-Humber - £30,000

Thirteen lucky neighbours in Barton-upon-Humber got the surprise of their lives when they discovered their postcode, DN18 5NG, had landed them £30,000 prizes. One of the winners doubled their windfall to £60,000 because they were playing with two tickets.

Family Dinner Treat

John is planning to dine out in celebration after receiving his five-figure cash windfall from Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson. John said, "We can go for a meal to Nando's because the family all like Nando's. I can get a few extra sides now - spicy rice and garlic bread!"

The grandfather-of-nine added, "It's the shock of my life! It's a year's salary to most people - it's huge!

"I've got a big family and we'll be able to treat them to dinner to celebrate and help them out a bit."

John, who works for a food manufacturing company, joked, "Should I take the year off?"

Five Star Upgrade

Alex also bagged a £30,000 cheque and described the win as "mental". He said, "This money is massive! There's never been a day where I ever thought we'd win this sort of money. I'm genuinely happy when I win £10 but you never think something like this is going to happen."

Alex, an oil refinery worker, was joined by his wife Rachael when he received the five-figure surprise. Rachael said, "Our nine-year-old daughter has been singing the Postcode Lottery song all week. It's great that the kids can enjoy all the excitement and we can really treat them."

Dad-of-two Alex said, "We've looked at a holiday to Greece and we can maybe up the hotel now." Rachael added, "Five stars!"

Alex was delighted to share the joy with many of his neighbours. He said, "We've grown up here all our life and everyone knows everyone. It's nice to see so many of neighbours win with us."

Playing To Help Charities

Single mum Louise started playing People's Postcode Lottery to help charities and never expected to receive a cheque for £30,000. Louise said, "It means a lot and it's going to help a lot.

"My daughter has just started driving lessons so I might be able to help her with the lessons and maybe treat her to a car. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to afford to get her one, but I'll be able to now.

"I can also take my two children on a sunny beach holiday and go for a spa day with my daughter.

"Helping charities is the reason I play the Postcode Lottery. I've got a son with additional needs, and I know how many charities that help people like Ethan, so if I can give back to anything, I will."

Biggest Shock Ever

Tony, another lucky neighbour on the street, said, "It's the old cliche - it's life-changing.

"It really takes the pressure off, and we can enjoy it. It's the biggest shock ever."

As for what he'd spend the money on, Tony said, "We can treat the two grandkids by putting some money in the bank for them and we can enjoy a break away to the Yorkshire Dales."

Bound For Spain

Terry joked winning £30,000 was "better than a slap on the head". The retired engineer is now planning a dream holiday with his wife Anita. Terry said, "We can drive to Spain and hire a campervan.

"We could even drive there in a new car, as I've always wanted a Jaguar F-PACE."

Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "A massive congratulations to our thirteen lucky winners in Barton-upon-Humber! It was lovely to surprise many of our winners.

"I hope they treat themselves to something extra special with the money."
