Dream Come True For Dereham

Five neighbours in Dereham got the Christmas present of their lives when they landed £30,000 each with People's Postcode Lottery. Their postcode, NR19 2DR, was announced as the winner of our Street Prize on Christmas Eve.

Bronwen, who runs a building company with her partner John, was one of our lucky winners. Bronwen said, "This is just a ridiculous amount of money. Between me and John we have five children who are all young adults and could do with a hand so it means so much to me that we'll be able to help them out a bit.

"Because we're self-employed we're not often able to go on holiday as we are working all the time, so this will give us the chance to get someone to help us out while we go away – I've been dreaming of Sri Lanka. We count ourselves as lucky people anyway, having healthy, happy children, living in a lovely place and doing work we enjoy, but this is just surreal."

Bronwen's partner John arrived home not long after Bronwen had been presented with the cheque. He said, "I couldn't decide whether she'd received good news or bad news when I saw her face! She just started crying as she told me. I think we'll use some of the money to get a hand with doing up our own house, as I'm always so busy with other people's!"

Electrician Stephen also won the £30,000 prize. His wife, Louise, joined him as he was presented with the cheque. Stephen said_, "You never think it's going to be you who wins! I've never won anything before, but I've had a massive piece of luck today._

"We moved into our house seven years ago and have completely done it up and are almost finished now, so this will mean we can finally push it over the finish line."

Louise added, "This is such a special time to win – it's a miracle at Christmas! As well as being the festive season, we are about to become grandparents for the first time, so the timing really couldn't be better. It will be lovely to get all the family something extra for Christmas, and maybe even take everyone away for a weekend in the New Year."

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier presented the winners with their cheques. Jeff said, "Congratulations to all of our winners in Dereham. What a perfect time to win – I don't think they expected that as a Christmas present! I hope they have a wonderful time celebrating."

With 32% of the ticket price going to charities, our players have raised a staggering £371 Million for good causes. This prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Sport Trust.

Frozen Light is one of many good causes near to our winners that have been supported by People's Postcode Lottery players.
