Lucky Five In St Ives

12 November 2017 - PE27 5NX - St Ives - £30,000

Five lucky St Ives neighbours are celebrating after winning big with People's Postcode Lottery.

One of the Warren Road winners scooped an amazing £90,000 in Sunday's Street Prize. The other four, who play with postcode PE27 5NX, won a fantastic £30,000 each

Kenneth accepted a cheque for £30,000 on behalf of his partner Venus, who was overseas and disappointed not to be there in person. After speaking with her on the phone, Kenneth said, "She's very, very excited about it and she's already decided we're going on a trip."

Kenneth, who plays with three tickets himself, discovered he'd won a whopping £90,000. He then revealed he has a huge surprise for Venus. "When my partner said she'd like to sign up for People's Postcode Lottery, I looked at all the different charities the money goes to, and I thought it's a great thing - so I secretly bought three more tickets and didn't tell her!"

Winner Andrea said, "I think I've been put in a state of total shock. The fact that playing helps good causes is important as well, you don't feel as if you're just throwing money away."

Another £30,000 winner on the street is Patricia, who was delighted with her prize. She joked, "I'm thinking about whether I should tell my kids or not!"

Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It was fantastic to meet our winners and to surprise them with their cheques. I hope they enjoy spending their winnings and treat themselves to something special."

To date, more than £246 Million has been raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery for over 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A local cause which has received support from players is Froglife. The charity received £19,836 last year to deliver an accessible and inclusive programme of activities to help local schoolchildren learn more about amphibians and reptiles.

There was also a big win for Broadstone players when postcode BH18 9NN was drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
