Wellingborough Women Win Big

28 May - NN8 1PP - Wellingborough - £25,000

Three players from Wellingborough were overjoyed to discover they had each won £25,000 this weekend. The lucky Melton Road North neighbours' postcode, NN8 1PP, was drawn as one of this weekend's two Saturday Street Prize winners.

Liz Kennelly said she couldn't believe she had won. "I thought I'd maybe won a grand or two, but when they came with a cheque for £25,000, I was overjoyed. I think we'll be heading out tonight for a meal to celebrate and then after that who knows! I'll probably give some of it to my son, keep some for a rainy day and of course, there'll probably be a holiday on the cards. I've always wanted to go to Devon, so now's my chance.

"It's so wonderful too that playing with People's Postcode Lottery means raising money for so many charities - that was really one of the main reasons why I signed up."

Michelle Parry said she already had big plans for the win. "It just hasn't sunk in yet. I thought anything over £1,000 would be a bonus, so to get £25,000 was just unreal. I'll be able to pay off a few bills, take my kids on holiday and so much more – it's just amazing."

Michelle's next door neighbour, Heidi Barham, was just as thrilled. "I have twins, Paige and Taylor, who are both eight years old, so I'm sure when the news settles they'll have some big plans on helping me spend the money!

"It's so easy to sign up to play; I'd recommend it to anyone. You never know when your postcode might come up!"

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £118 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A supported charity near this week's winners is the NBA Gateway Resource Centre, which received over £18,000 in 2015 for their 'Goals for Your Health and Fitness' project.

There were a wealth of big winners this weekend, with a second Street Prize coming to Cannock, the Postcode Millions landing in Coventry, Dream Holidays being scooped in Thatcham and £5,000 and a BMW won in Englefield Green. Congratulations to all our lucky winners!
