Win In Woodley
Three Woodley winners each welcomed a £30,000 windfall this weekend, thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery. The lucky trio landed their cheques after their postcode, RG5 3AP, was drawn in today's Street Prize.
In February's draws, our #30KADAY Street Prizes mean lucky winners will collect £30,000 cheques every single day.
A Lovely Surprise
One of our winners, Derek, was joined by his wife Sherry when he found out he'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt.
On seeing his cheque, Derek exclaimed, "Wow - bazookas! What a great start to the year. That'll make a difference. You just don't expect to see it written there like that. It's a lot of money." Sherry added, "Thirty thousand?! That is fabulous - what a lovely surprise!"
Derek, a retired graphic designer, has a few ideas on how to spend his windfall. He said, "We've been umming and ahhing over a new kitchen and decided not at the moment, but I think it's time for an upgrade now! And as soon as we can get away on holiday, we'll do that too. We love Italy and we like Spain." He went on to joke, "We might employ a butler for a week!"
Asked how they'd celebrate, Sherry said, "We'll have to have a bottle of champagne tonight and Derek can cook a meal."
Judie McCourt sent her congratulations. She said, "It was lovely to meet Derek and Sherry and get their new year off to a winning start. I hope our other lucky winners are just as delighted as they are. Well done, Woodley!"
