Happy-Go-Lucky In Howden

Howden is home to three happy winners today. The lucky neighbours, who play with postcode DN14 7ZJ, each received a £30,000 cheque after winning Saturday's Street Prize.

Surprise Visitor

Jaymie was among our winners. She was joined by her fiancé Matthew when Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson unveiled her prize. Jaymie said, "You don't think it's ever going to happen to you. It's very overwhelming."

Matthew added, "It's not every day someone knocks on your door with £30,000!

"We've never won anything so to win a massive prize, it feels awesome."

The win has come at a great time for the couple, who only recently got engaged. Matthew said, "I've just gone back to full-time work after two years with COVID and Jaymie's been studying for a year and a half to become a dental nurse.

"Everyone has had it tough over the last couple of years so this just takes the edge off. We've always wanted the garden doing and we'd also like a little holiday.

"It's certainly going to do a lot for us as a young couple."

Afterwards, Danyl Johnson said, "It was a pleasure to deliver some nice golden envelopes to Howden and surprise Jaymie and Matthew. I'm sure the money will come in handy when they're planning for the wedding!

"I hope our other winners are just as thrilled as they are, and they also enjoy treating themselves to something special with the cash."
