Cash Reward For Lapford

20 May - EX17 6AF - Lapford - £30,000

Three neighbours in Lapford are celebrating after landing £30,000 each when their postcode, EX17 6AF, was drawn as People's Postcode Lottery's Street Prize winner today.

Anthony Kenshole was so delighted with his win that he's now signed up with even more tickets. "We love contributing to charity so I've bought my wife two tickets and I've signed up with a second one myself – you never know!" he said.

Anthony, who is a retured HGV driver, was joined by his wife Jennifer when he was presented with his cheque. "You should have seen her face when she saw the amount of money we won," he said.

Anthony knows how he would like to spend his winnings. "We need our bathroom done. It's something that we've been meaning to do for a while, so this will really help," he said.

Doris Gigg also couldn't believe it when she found out she had won £30,000. "I'm still in shock," she said. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me before."

Retired office worker Doris has been playing for around a year, and signed up to support charities. "I haven't decided what to spend the money on, but it will go into our savings account until I do. I will sit and chat to my husband, Dave. I have a big family: four children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. I'm looking forward to telling them all."

There was one other £30,000 winner who was not at home to receive their cheque, but their winnings will be transferred directly into their bank account.

Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "I really enjoyed meeting Anthony and Doris today – they were such good sports when we arrived with a cameraman and TV crew! I hope they all enjoy spending their winnings."

A minimum of 30% of the ticket price goes directly to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £197 Million for more than 2,800 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A charity local to the winners that has received support from players is Wren Music, which was awarded £16,143 last year for their Folk in the Community project.

One lucky player in Hazlerigg was also celebrating this weekend, as NE13 7BU was drawn as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize.
