One happy Clapton resident is celebrating this week after winning £25,000 and a brand new BMW thanks to People's Postcode Lottery.

Jaspal Sing plays with postcode E5 0BA, which was drawn as the winner of our monthly car and cash prize.

Jaspal couldn't believe his luck when People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Danyl Johnson appeared on his doorstep. "I'm still in shock – you always see people winning on the adverts, but I didn't expect it to ever happen to me. I'm going to help out my friends and family with the money, and my flat needs some work so I'll be able to do that. The car is an amazing bonus too – I don't have one at the moment.

"I can't believe I'm the only person who plays in my postcode either – although I'm sure a few more will sign up now. They were all really happy for me and came out to congratulate me."

Danyl Johnson said, "It was lovely to meet Jaspal today and present him with the cheque and BMW. I think it was quite a shock! I hope he enjoys spending it."

A minimum of 30% of the ticket price goes directly to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £205 Million for more than 2,800 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A project that has received player support near the winning postcode is Foundation for Change, which was awarded £19,817 last year to run a training programme for people who have experienced drug and alcohol problems.
