Street Prize For Sleaford

08 July 2020 - NG34 7WQ - Sleaford - £30,000
Judie reveals a super Street Prize for each of our winners in Sleaford

There are big celebrations on a street in Sleaford today as five people heard they'd each pocketed a cheque for £30,000 thanks to their lucky postcode. The Oat Drive neighbours landed the cash when NG34 7WQ was announced as a winner of our latest £30,000 Street Prize in July's #30KADAY extravaganza.

Unbelievably Amazing

Kelly, a teaching assistant, was joined by her husband Jon when she found out how much she'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. After screaming out in shock, she said, "Oh my goodness. It's more than we were expecting. We were imagining how nice £1,000 would be, so this is unbelievably amazing!

"We're just an ordinary couple with three children and life is busy and life is expensive, so this means a massive amount."

Kelly and Jon would love to take the family on a special trip to America. Kelly said, "Jon is in the RAF and our eldest son was born in Alaska while he was on a two-year posting there. He's desperate to see where he was born and is always asking when we'll take him. It's never really been on the cards before now.

"I signed up to play because of my neighbour and I'm so glad I did. Thank you to our neighbours next door!"

Life-Changing

Lucky Laura was the neighbour who encouraged Kelly to join. Laura, who is mum to two daughters, was emotional when she saw how much she'd won. She said, "I've never won anything before so that is life-changing.

"I've just had my 40th birthday and I'm meant to be celebrating with a girly weekend in Palma but it got cancelled so I was a bit miserable. Then I got a call from Postcode Lottery and now I've forgotten all about it. My face hurts from smiling so much and I can't wait to tell my husband, Danny.

"I'm so pleased to have won with Kelly and Jon. They're the best neighbours ever - we've even had a fence panel taken out so we can see each other and have socially distanced garden parties."

A Year To Remember

Adrian, another of our winners, was joined by his wife Melanie and Paddy, their 11-year-old Yorkipoo, when he got the good news. Adrian, who works as a test engineer, said, "We've never had any luck like this. This is the best Zoom call ever. You've made our year."

The couple would love to treat the family with the win. Melanie said, "We've five children and three grandchildren, the youngest was just born in lockdown 14 weeks ago. It would be lovely to go somewhere next year on a proper family holiday - we've never been able to before."

Judie McCourt said, "Surprising our winners is one of the best things about my job, so I'm over the moon for Kelly, Laura, Adrian and our other winners in Sleaford. It was great to hear their plans for the money and I'm sure there will be a few bottles of fizz being popped open on Oat Drive tonight!"
