Great News For Gorleston
A Norfolk man found out he'd won a £25,000 prize with People's Postcode Lottery on the day of his 47th birthday.
Lee Harvey from Greenacres in Gorleston scooped the prize when his lucky postcode NR31 7JA was drawn in one of the Saturday Street Prizes this weekend.
The freight worker plans to celebrate his win with his wife Alison and their two daughters, Amber and Brooke. Lee said, "This is the best birthday present I've ever had. It feels really good to win and I know I'm lucky.
"My wife Alison signed us up to play and I'm glad she did. We never expected for one minute to win this amount of money. We felt that playing People's Postcode Lottery benefits more people through the charities that it supports.
"With this money we'll be able to book a nice holiday to Florida next year, which will be nice for the girls."
Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt, who handed over the £25,000 cheque to Lee and Alison, congratulated the couple. She said, "The reaction from Lee and Alison was really fantastic. They were over the moon to receive their cheque. With People's Postcode Lottery there are chances to win every day and players have raised an incredible £129 Million for good causes around the country."
Another £25,000 winner from Gorleston was unavailable to receive their cheque.
Player-supported charities around Norfolk include and Claxton Parish Pit Charity, which was awarded £9,600 from Postcode Local Trust, and Lowestoft Ladies Hockey Club, which received £564 this year from Postcode Community Trust.
There was also good news for lucky players in Bracknell, as another Saturday Street Prize landed in RG42 2BY.
