Lots Of Dough For Bromlow
One lucky Bromlow resident is celebrating this week after winning big with People's Postcode Lottery. His postcode, SY5 0EA, was drawn as Saturday's Street Prize winner, scooping a whopping £30,000.
Winner Paul Vincent said, "This is fantastic, I'm absolutely speechless. It means a lot, it means we can do a lot of things that we couldn't before - we haven't had a holiday for 12 years, we can do some repairs to the house and a new vehicle might be towards the top of the list. I decided to play after I saw it on TV, and I know people who play, so I told myself that I needed to be part of that."
Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "I'm absolutely delighted for Paul on his win, he was completely shocked when he pulled the cheque out. It was a pleasure to meet him, and I hope he enjoys spending the money on the holiday of a lifetime."
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £229 Million for more than 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local cause that has received support from players is Shrewsbury Town in the Community. The charity was awarded £13,434 last year to fund a weekly digital learning hub for older people. This aims to help them familiarise themselves and become more comfortable using computers and other digital equipment.
Also this weekend, a lucky player from Shildon won a fantastic £30,000 in Sunday's Street Prize.
