This Sunday fortune has smiled on a postcode in Liverpool after L3 6LW was drawn in our £30,000 Street Prize. Two of our five lucky winners each netted cheques for £30,000, while the remaining three, who play with two tickets, doubled their prize money and scooped a sensational £60,000 each!
One of our £60,000 winners was Leonard, who learned of his windfall during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. On seeing his big cheque, he cheered and clapped before exclaiming, "Oh happy days! That is boss, that! That is wonderful."
Leonard, who works as a gas engineer, was completely blown away but knew exactly what he was going to do with the money - go on vacation with his wife to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. He said, "We're going to book a holiday as soon as we get a chance. We want to do something that we haven't been able to do. Get on a really posh cruise, me and my other half. We'd probably like to do Saint Kitts. I went there on cargo ships in the '70s but I'd like to go back there on a proper holiday."
The dad-of-three also wanted to share some of his winnings with his kids and five grandchildren. He added, "We'll treat them to something. I'll take my closest family somewhere special, on an all-inclusive somewhere."
Leonard was thrilled to hear that several of his neighbours had won too and said, "We'll have a street party when we can. It's a cracking little community."
Another £60,000 winner was Anthony. After seeing how much he'd won, he said, "Absolutely fantastic. Unbelievable. I'm gobsmacked. I'm overjoyed. It's unbelievable."
Anthony plays with two tickets as he wanted one for his partner Jackie as well. Asked how he would spend his winnings, he explained he was hoping to arrange a holiday for the couple's anniversary. He added, "We go to Antalya every year and we're really looking forward to going there again. I'm hoping to get there for our anniversary in September."
Anthony, who runs his own demolition company, was pleased to hear about the Charities supported by the lottery as he makes regular contributions to a good cause as well. He said, "I do a little bit for charity myself and I know this goes to good causes. Every year I donate around £3,000 worth of toys to Alder Hey Hospital."
Spoil The Family
Daisy also scooped a £60,000 cheque, and was left stunned after hearing that she'd won. While laughing, she exclaimed, "Oh my God! I'm in shock. I can't believe that. It's like I'm in a dream. It's surreal, it doesn't feel real."
The mum-of-two wasn't sure how she'd spend her winnings but knew that she wanted to share her good fortune. She added, "It'll go towards the kids, house, things like that, family. I just want to spoil some of the family, that's what I want to do. It's nice just to be given the opportunity to give to everybody and sort everybody out. It's lovely."
Judie McCourt sent her congratulations to all our winners. She said, "I am so happy for Leonard, Anthony, Daisy and our other winners in Liverpool today. I can tell it's a lovely community which makes this prize extra special!
"I'm sure they'll all enjoy spending their winnings and treating their families and I hope they go get themselves something special to celebrate as well."
