Winning In Winchester

Three neighbours in Winchester have won £30,000 each thanks to their postcode, SO22 4LT. The postcode was drawn as Sunday's Street Prize winner.

NHS worker Jemma was delighted with her £30,000 prize. She said, "I really can't believe it. It would be amazing to go on a family holiday with my husband and two boys, who are 20 and 21 – I guess we just need to have a think about where we'll be going and get planning. I can't wait!

"The charity side of the lottery is fantastic too so I'm delighted to be helping to support them as well as winning myself."

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier handed over the whopping cheque. Jeff said, "It was fantastic to surprise Jemma today with her cheque – I don't think she expected it to be so much. I hope her and her family have a wonderful time spending it, I think there will be an exciting holiday on the cards and a lot more besides!"

With 32% of the ticket price going to charities, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £350 Million for good causes. This prize was part of a draw promoted by Breast Cancer Care.

A number of charities near to the winners have benefited from player funding, including The Colden Common Shed. The group recently received £10,000 to build a venue to help counter loneliness in older men. The facility offers areas for woodworking and other hobbies, and space for organised social events.
