All's Well In Elmswell

06 August - IP30 9DS - Elmswell - £25,000

All is well for the three residents of Elmswell who scooped Saturday Street Prizes today, worth an incredible £25,000 for every winning ticket.

IP30 9DS was drawn as a winner at the weekend, and one Warren Close player walked away with £50,000 after playing with two tickets.

High school sweethearts Susan and John Welford won £25,000 and are planning to celebrate their anniversary in style later this year. Susan said, "We met when we were both eleven years old, and this October we will have been married for 57 years. I think that's worth celebrating so we'll be able to plan something really nice now.

"We've been saving up for a new car for a while, but now we'll be able to go out and choose the one we want. My granddaughter will be excited to get the old one.

"It's absolutely marvellous to win People's Postcode Lottery. I posted news of my win on Facebook and I've had a lot of people congratulating me."

Another £25,000 winner was driving instructor Christina Chamberlain. She said, "I need to upgrade my own car, but not the one that I use for lessons! The new car will be for me to enjoy with my husband Jeff.

"We are going to enjoy spoiling ourselves. We like to go walking with our dog Alfie and going for evening meals, so we'll make sure we get to do plenty of that. Alfie will get some extra bones too as a treat!"

The £50,000 winner was unavailable to receive their cheque, but they will undoubtedly be happy to see such a huge amount deposited directly into their bank account.

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "What a great bunch of winners in Elmswell. It was my pleasure to knock on their doors and present them with amazing prizes. Players like those in Elmswell are making a huge difference to charities around the country and so we thank them for that."

Over £135 Million has been raised to date by players for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. One project that players have supported near Elmswell is The Kinetic Science Foundation, which received £20,000 in 2015. The aim of the charity is to encourage children and young people to consider having a career in science.

One lucky player in Bognor Regis also had cause to celebrate as PO21 2SY was picked as the other Saturday Street Prize winner.
