Street Prize

Lucky Longford

30 May 2020 - CV6 6AX - Longford - £30,000
Today's £30,000 Street Prizes are headed to nine lucky winners in Longford!

The weekend is off to a fantastic start for nine winners in Longford after their postcode, CV6 6AX, got lucky in today's Street Prize. Eight of the Burbages Lane neighbours netted cheques for £30,000 each, while the ninth, who plays with two tickets, doubled their prize money and picked up an incredible £60,000!

The winners found out how much they'd won over video calls with Street Prize Presenters Judie McCourt and Danyl Johnson.

Surreal Experience

Lucky Tracey was at home with her eldest daughter, Michelle, and her granddaughter when she found out she was a winner. When her £30,000 cheque was revealed on screen, there were screams around the house. Tracey exclaimed, "I don't believe it! This is surreal!"

The win has come at a great time for Tracey and her family as they recently welcomed a new baby. Tracey said, "It's been a hard few weeks. My eldest daughter has a new-born so this will really help. I've got three daughters and four grandchildren, so they'll be having a share of it. This is life-changing for my family.

"If I want to buy something, I have to save up to get it, so this will make a big difference. I've got a sore hand because I've been painting so much, but now I can pay someone to paint my bedroom!" Tracey added, "People always say, 'it never happens to you', but it does because I'm looking at the cheque!"

All Those Zeroes

Baljinder, a teaching assistant, was another big winner. When her cheque was revealed she exclaimed, "Oh my days! £30,000! Oh my god the zeroes! This means a lot. I can do a lot with that. I can't put it into words. I'm shaking! It hasn't been the best start to the year, but this will really help me out."

Baljinder already has some ideas on how she will spend her prize money. She said, "I really miss seeing my grandsons so I will spoil them when I can. I was thinking of getting a nice summerhouse in the garden. I don't want to waste it, but I am going to treat myself! It's also my husband's birthday next week so it's good timing. We'll celebrate later when he's back from work. Obviously restaurants are closed so we will get a takeaway!"

A Big Thank You

Grandmother of two Alice couldn't believe her luck when she saw the big number written on her cheque. She said, "I never really win anything, only raffles, so thank you very much! My husband originally signed up to play but sadly he passed away five years ago. I've just kept it on since then because I knew the money was going to help other people through charities."

Alice already has a few ideas on how she'll spend her windfall. She said, "The telly has started going and switches itself off just about every hour so I'll be getting that replaced. The car is on its last legs, too, so this will come in very handy. It's a real bonus and means I'll be able to get a few things which I wouldn't have been able to normally. I'm just excited now I can start thinking about what to buy with it!"

Over The Moon

Brian was joined by his wife of 46 years, Mhairi, when he received the good news. He said, "I'm over the moon. Our daughter lives in Wales so we'd like to help her out with things that need doing around the house. We also like our holidays so we're really looking forward to the time that we're able to go on holiday again." Mhairi added, "We're absolutely elated. I think we'll maybe have a glass of wine or a gin and tonic to celebrate tonight!"

A Calming Coffee

Georgina was another lucky winner to land £30,000. She exclaimed, "I need a cup of coffee to help me calm down, or maybe even a glass of champagne!"

After his video call Danyl Johnson said, "I'm over the moon for all of our winners today. It was lovely to see their reactions over video despite not knocking on their doors as usual. It sounds like they're all going to be very generous with their prize money, but I hope they treat themselves to something special too!"

Deserving Projects

With People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Our players have funded more than 7,500 deserving projects across Britain and around the world. To date, players have raised more than £500 Million for community groups and charitable organisations.

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Canal & River Trust, which has received over £8.7 Million thanks to player support. This money has enabled the charity to fund a range of important projects, helping to realise their vision of living waterways that transform places and enrich lives.
