Sunny In Swansea, Kempston And Cwmbran

This weekend, three sets of lucky players have won a variety of great prizes, with the £2 Million February Postcode Millions landing in Swansea, and postcodes in Kempston and Cwmbran have been drawn in Saturday Street Prizes.

Six lucky Swansea residents scooped a cash surprise when their postcode, SA5 4TG, was revealed as the full winning postcode in February's Postcode Millions.

The six winners, who were presented with their cheques by People's Postcode Lottery ambassador and Welsh rugby legend Scott Quinnell, all played with the full winning postcode. This meant they walked away with a whopping £166,666 each. The event saw 180 residents in the winning postcode sector SA5 4 share a £2 Million prize pot, with prizes ranging from £2,659 up to £166,666.

Raymond Morgan, 70, who has been playing since December 2010, originally scooped a cheque for £5,319 and was absolutely delighted when his full winning postcode was revealed.

Raymond, who works as part of the security team at Tesco, attended the celebration with his wife of 50 years, Elaine. Raymond said, "I've got two daughters, five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, so I've definitely got lots of people who'll be very excited to hear about the win today!"

Raymond's wife Elaine was absolutely gobsmacked by the win, saying, "I used to play as well but stopped not that long ago. I can't believe I did that, we would have won twice as much. I'll definitely be signing up to play again now." With such a big family, they have plenty of people to spoil, and they are planning on treating themselves to a trip to Cyprus.

Raymond's next-door neighbour Kimberley Corrick, 23, was next up to see her cheque revealed. "I've only been playing for eight weeks," said Kimberley, "This has definitely been the best day for a long time."

Full time mum Kimberley plans to buy herself a new car and take her two year old son Riley on holiday. She said, "Riley has only met his grandmother twice, as she lives in Andalucia, Spain, so I'm really excited to be able to take him. I've never been on a plane, so it really will be special." She added, "This money simply means no more worries – that is life-changing for me."

39-year-old Mark Owen, a civil servant, was left reeling from the announcement that he had won £166,666 in the fourth Postcode Millions to land in Wales. Mark said, "Since finding out 10 days ago that I was a winner, I have been trying all sorts of strategies to try and work out prizes. I never imagined that it would be so much!" Mark and his partner Dale Harries have holidays on their mind, with Mark adding, "I think we would really like to go to New York, and perhaps Montreal – we can go anywhere now! For tonight though, we plan on watching the rugby with a glass of champagne."

Pauline Turner, 66, was equally thrilled to receive her £166,666 cheque. "It hasn't sunk in," she said. "We'll have a big celebration tonight." Pauline was joined by her daughter, Clare, at today's event and although she is still in shock, she has a few ideas of how to spend the money. "I have two children and five grandchildren, so I have plenty of people to spoil. My daughter is getting married in Greece later this year, and I plan to give her money towards her honeymoon."

Pauline, who is a retired seamstress, has been playing People's Postcode Lottery for two years. "I thought I would give it a go and I'm glad I did."

Eric Burrows, 58, a semi-retired mechanic, attended the celebration today with his wife Debra. The couple are excited to tell their children, who are ten and nine years old, about their win. "My son loves Disney and Lego, so that's summer sorted for us, a trip to Legoland and Disney World."

The sixth lucky winner has decided to remain anonymous.

Postcode sector winner Sandra John, 65, scooped £5,319 and was the winner of a brand new BMW 1 Series. "I'm in shock," she said. "I actually saw the same BMW the other day and commented on how nice it was. I still can't believe how much money I've won on top of the car."

This is the fourth time that the Postcode Millions event has landed in Wales. The other lucky areas were Newport and the town of Port Talbot, which scooped the Postcode Millions prize pot two years in a row. Welsh rugby hero Scott Quinnell was delighted to be handing out cheques to a home crowd. He said, “It's great being back here in Wales handing out cheques to the people of Swansea. The atmosphere has been absolutely electric today, and I've loved seeing everyone's reactions. I hope they have a great time celebrating with their families tonight!"

Our first £25,000 Saturday Street Prize winner of the week is from MK42 8HQ in Kempston.

Maria Waller, 39, could hardly believe it when X-Factor star Danyl Johnson turned up at her door to present her with her £25,000 cheque. "It doesn't seem real," she said.

Maria has been playing since September last year, and the reason she decided to sign up is quite unusual. "I had a dream about missing an opportunity and the next morning, I saw an advert for People's Postcode Lottery," she said. "I knew then that I was supposed to win, so I signed up immediately. I'm so glad I went with my instincts."

Not only did a dream indicate that Maria would be a winner but a family member did too."A few days before I won, my auntie was talking about People's Postcode Lottery with my mum, and she said that she was sure someone in the family would win it, and she was right!" she said.

Maria, who is a mother of seven, has a few ideas of how to spend her winnings. "I'm taking my two youngest children to Butlins on holiday, so the money will help," she said. "I would also like to do some home improvements and make a few investments."

Danyl Johnston is a new street prize presenter for People's Postcode Lottery, and he was delighted to be in Kempston to present his first cheque. He said, "I really enjoyed meeting Maria and letting her see how much she'd won. It's unbelievable that a dream told her to play and she won! I hope she treats herself with her winnings and enjoys a nice celebration with her family."

Our final big winner this weekend is Mike Burden from Cwmbran, whose postcode, NP44 2PH, was drawn in our second £25,000 Saturday Street Prize of the week.

Mike, 59, was joined by his partner Ruth when he was presented with his cheque by former Welsh international rugby player Scott Quinnell. "I was so excited to meet Scott," said Mike. "I'm a big fan of his, and it was nice to chat to him, as one of my sons went to his school."

Although Mike, who is a retired assistant accountant, was shocked to win, he and Ruth have some big plans for the money. "We'd love to get a special holiday booked," he said. "Ruth is a big Lord of the Rings fan, so New Zealand is our ideal place. The furthest I've been is Corfu, so it will be an adventure."

Mike and Ruth have five children between them, so they have plenty of people to spoil. "Two of my daughters are trying to get on the housing market, so I would really like to help them," said Mike.

Mike has been a player since 2012 and decided to sign up to support charities in his area. "It wasn't the prizes that enticed me to play, it was to raise money for charities," he said. "I couldn't believe no one else on the street was playing. I'm sure they'll all sign up now."

People's Postcode Lottery Street Prize presenter Scott Quinnell said, "I really enjoyed meeting Mike and Ruth and was delighted to present them with their cheque. I hope they get their dream holiday to New Zealand booked soon."

Players have raised over £61 Million for charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally. One charity local to Cwmbran winner Mike is St Julian's Senior Citizen Association in Newport. They were awarded £2,000 from players to for a new piano to entertain elderly citizens.
