With the dark nights drawing in, can you think of any better way to brighten up a day than a £25,000 win?

A couple from Henstridge will be able to afford the wedding of their dreams after winning £25,000 in the Saturday Street Prize this week. Charles Weldon scooped the life-changing sum of money after his postcode BA8 0QT was drawn as a winner.

25 year-old Charles, from Woodhayes Court, is planning a summer wedding next year with fiancée Alexandra Cluett. The trainee engineer says he no longer has to worry about the bill for their upcoming nuptials. "Up until now we have had to scrimp and save to pay for the wedding," he said. "But winning such a large sum of money means we can plan the wedding of our dreams without worrying too much about how much everything costs."

Charles is also planning an amazing honeymoon, thanks to his big win. "We are going to fly out to Barbados for a few nights and then onto Las Vegas," he added. "It'll be the trip of a lifetime. Hopefully when we get back we'll have enough money left to put down a deposit on our first house as a married couple."

Neighbour Michael Clark, 56, also scooped £25,000. Michael has only been playing People's Postcode Lottery since August and has won on three separate occasions. "I won £10 in September and then again in October and now I've won £25,000. It's just incredible and I will definitely keep playing," he said.

The electrician has got a special hobby he wants to indulge in with his winnings. He added, "There's a particular Hornby train set that I've wanted for a long time so now I can finally get it for myself. But with Christmas around the corner, no doubt there'll be gifts for my wife and two children, David and Jenny, and my lovely granddaughter Sofia.

As a charity lottery, players have raised over £91 Million for charities across Great Britain and internationally. One project local to Charles and Michael is the Bath Rugby Foundation which received £20,000 to help young people not in employment, training or education access sport and get back into employment. Action on Hearing Loss also received £16,000 from players to create a therapeutic garden in the grounds of Poolemead Centre in Bath.

Presenting the cheques to the lucky winners in Henstridge, People's Postcode Lottery ambassador and rugby legend, Scott Quinnell, said: "I never tire of giving players life-changing sums of money and with the festive season just around the corner this is always a great time of year to receive a big cheque. I'm sure our Henstridge winners will enjoy a bumper Christmas."
